Before you begin

The following article describes the technical procedures for implementing Winsyslog 9.0 and configures IAG to send events to Syslog

Important to know!

1. The download version of Winsyslog offers all features of the enterprise edition for 30 days. It will automatically switch to freeware mode thereafter. If you purchase a license, the features will be unlocked without any need for reinstallation or reconfiguration
2. WinSyslog supports RFC3195 - Reliable Delivery for syslog http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc3195.html
3. The upcoming article will explain how to customize IAG events

Prerequisites

1. Please download Winsyslog from the site http://www.winsyslog.com/en/

Configuration Procedures

Phase 1: Install WinSyslog 9.0

1. Download the installation file to your server and double click on it (pay attention that the publisher is trusted - digitally signed)
2. On the following screen press "Run"

   

   

3. On the following screen press "Next"

   

4. on the following screen choose "I accept the terms in the license agreement and press "Next"

   

5. On the following screen press "Next"

   

6. On the following screen choose "Custom" (to customize your installation) and press "Next"

   

7. In the following screen you can choose your relevant components and press "Next"

   

8. On the following screen press "Next"

   

9. On the following screen press "Finish"

   

10. Click Start->All Programs -> WinSyslog->WinSyslog Configuration

    

11. Choose the proper language and press "Start"

    

12. On the configuration section choose "Local Interactive Server" to view the network configuration (you will need the port for the IAG configuration)

    

13. You can see that you have multiple Protocol types - IAG supports UDP

    

14. Phase 2: Configure IAG to work with SYSLOG server
15. On the IAG management console, go to Admin->Event logging

    

16. Choose "Enable"
17. Enter the IP/Host of the SYSLOG server
18. Enter the SYSLOG port
19. Press Ok

    

20. Press the Activate settings button

    

21. Press "Activate"

    

22. Press Ok

    

23. Phase 3: Test your configuration
24. Click Start->All Programs -> WinSyslog->InterActive SyslogViewer

    

25. Choose "Start" and try to access the IAG portal
